Turner Motorsport to Race Six BMWs at Daytona 2024

Turner Motorsport is set to make a grand return to the legendary Daytona Raceway, and this time with an unprecedented entry of six BMW racing cars. This marks the largest-ever participation by Turner in the team’s history. Turner expressed his excitement, stating, “I believe there will be a Turner BMW on track in almost every session.” The team will compete in the GTD PRO and GTD classes in the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, field two cars in the Michelin Pilot Challenge, and two more in the new VP Racing Sportscar Challenge.

For the 2023 season, Turner Motorsport has expanded its GTD program to include two BMW M4 GT3 racing cars. Furthermore, for the first time at the 24 hours of Daytona, Turner Motorsport will compete in both the GTD PRO and GTD categories. The No. 95 McIntosh BMW M4 GT3 will race in the GTD PRO class throughout the endurance season, with seasoned drivers Bill Auberlen, Chandler Hull, and BMW driver John Edwards. BMW driver Bruno Spengler will also join the team for the Daytona race.

In the GTD class, Robby Foley will take the wheel of the No. 96 Liqui Moly BMW, sharing the car with Patrick Gallagher for the season. Michael Dinan will join them for Daytona and the endurance races. BMW driver Jens Klingmann completes the lineup in the No. 96 GTD car for the Daytona race. Turner expressed his confidence in the GTD program, stating, “This year, our GTD program will run like a well-oiled, well-tuned machine. Look at that lineup. I am proud to have Liqui Moly and McIntosh on board in 2023. We are ready. We are prepared. It will be a whirlwind, but there’s no place like Daytona.”

Additionally, Turner Motorsport will enter two BMW M4 GT4s in the Michelin Pilot Challenge, with Rob Megennis and Cameron Lawrence driving the No. 95 car, and Vin Barletta and Robby Foley teaming up in the No. 96 machine.

The newly introduced VP Racing Sportscar Challenge will feature Francis Selldorff and Vin Barletta driving the No. 95 and No. 96 BMW M4 GSX entries respectively. The racing action will kick off with the Roar Before the Rolex 24 test weekend from January 20 to 22, which will include the first two 45-minute VP Challenge races and qualifying for the Rolex 24. The four-hour BMW M Endurance Challenge will commence on Friday, January 27 at 1:40 p.m. Finally, the prestigious Rolex 24 At Daytona will start on Saturday, January 28.

Turner Motorsport is gearing up for an exciting and action-packed season, ready to showcase their BMW racing prowess on the renowned Daytona Raceway.
