Supply Chain Constraints Prompt BMW to Cease Sales of Vehicles to UK Police

In a recent development, BMW has made the decision to discontinue supplying cars to police forces in the United Kingdom, at least temporarily. The Munich-based automaker cited ongoing supply bottlenecks as the primary reason for this move. Instead, the company will focus on meeting the high demand from retail and corporate customers.

It’s important to note that this decision solely affects the UK market, specifically the Park Lane dealer in Mayfair, which will undergo restructuring. The dealer houses an International & Specialist Sales Division, catering to customers interested in purchasing specialized vehicles. BMW UK clarified in a press release that they will not completely abandon the sales of purpose-built cars:

“With the demand for our cars consistently exceeding supply, we will prioritize sales to our retail and corporate customers in the future, while gradually moving away from certain areas of our authorities and specialist business.”

During the consultation period, which will impact a small number of employees, BMW Park Lane’s responsibilities will be transferred to the BMW UK National Sales Company located in Farnborough.
